A GUIDE THROUGH THE HIDDEN GEMS OF YOUR CITY

ABOUT THE PROJECT

During March and April 2024, we hosted an open call in which music enthusiasts from all around the globe were able to submit 1-day music itineraries that shared some insights into their local music scene. The itineraries submitted came from all corners of the world, from Mbabane in Eswatini to Anchorage in Alaska, from Vienna in Austria to Shilong in India, and more.

These itineraries exploded with creativity, expanding the scope of what an average music tourism itinerary could look like. Across these submissions, we found music tours for parents traveling with their toddlers, for people looking to discover the most tropical sounds of the Scandinavian countries, or music nerds exploring the best music libraries of the city.

The Hidden Gems of Music Tourism is coming together as a unique catalog of music itineraries that will guide people through local music scenes in the way a friend who is a music nerd would do if you were stopping by for a visit.

We're currently consolidating and editing the information received. The Hidden Gems of Music Tourism will be presented at the Cape Breton Island Music Tourism Convention, May 29-31, 2024, and will be officially launched during June through the Music Cities Event’s Music Tourism Hub.
