Picture yourself uncovering hidden music venues, mingling with local musicians, and immersing yourself in the soul of a city through its musical culture.

 

That's precisely what The Hidden Gems of Music Tourism is all about!


From May 29th to 31st, 2024, the Music Tourism Convention is making its way to the picturesque Cape Breton Island in Canada. To commemorate this convergence of music tourism best practices, we're inviting you to unearth The Hidden Gems of Music Tourism across the globe.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

To participate in this project and get the benefits that come with it, all you need to do is submit a 1-day music itinerary sharing some insights into your local music scene with the world. Get creative and showcase intriguing music venues, captivating street performances, iconic landmarks, vibrant clubs, and more. Essentially, curate an experience you'd proudly share with a fellow music enthusiast visiting your city.

The open call for submissions to be part of the catalogue will be available until April 25th, 2024.

 

The launch of The Hidden Gems of Music Tourism will take online through the Music Cities Event’s Music Tourism Hub.

BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING

By submitting a music itinerary you’ll receive:​

  • A digital copy of the Hidden Gems of Music Tourism.

  • A personalised Sonic Gem Seeker badge (also digital).

  • A complimentary ticket ticket to attend the Cape Breton Island Music Tourism Convention. 

 

Following the release of the catalogue, all participating "Sonic Gem Seekers" and delegates of the Cape Breton Island Music Tourism Convention will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite music itinerary of the project.

  • The best 8 music itineraries will be showcased to the top music tourism leaders attending the Cape Breton Island Music Tourism Convention, on May 29-31, 2024.
