THE AWARDS
The Music Cities Awards is a global competition designed to acknowledge and reward the most outstanding applications of music for economic, social, environmental, and cultural development in cities and places all around the world.
Since its launch in 2020, the MCA’s have become a global showcase of the state of the art of projects using music to make cities better and a source of inspiration for those music advocates looking to create a positive impact in their communities.
The Award Ceremony for the 2024 edition will take place on December 7th, on the opening day of the Riyadh Music Cities Convention, to be held in Saudi Arabia.

How much is the membership fee?The Standard Plan is $19.99/month or $199.99/year and the Premium Plan is $39.99/month or $399.99/year. We also have a Student plan for $4.99/month or $49.99/year and offer group subscriptions for cities and organisations.

How can I submit my payments?You'll only need to enter your card details once when setting up your account. We use Stripe as main payment processor, which uses secure connections and encrypts all sensitive data. Read more about Stripe's security protocols here: https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe

On what devices can I access the content?The Music Cities Community platform is accessible from anywhere on any device, including laptops, smartphones, tablets and more.

Do I need to be from a certain country to join the Community?Absolutely not. You can be based anywhere in the world.

In what language are the videos?Videos are currently in English, but we're looking into adding a multilingual subtitling service.

Can I download content or share it with friends / colleagues?No, but we have special discounted group subscription fees for organisations wishing to subscribe teams, classes and more. Just get in touch with Saria at saria@sounddiplomacy.com for more info.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?Yes, you can cancel your paid subscription at any time. Once you've done that, the renewal date in your subscription details becomes the end date and you'll no longer be charged for the subscription, but can continue to access it until this date.

How is my data protected?All personal data submitted as part of your membership won't be used or shared with anyone unless you willingly do so by signing up to our Community Directory & Forum. 2023
The 2023 edition of the Music Cities Awards Ceremony took place on the opening evening of the Huntsville Music Cities Convention. It was hosted by Saxony, State of the Arts, and supporting partners Experience Fayetteville, Levitt Foundation, Music Business Association, Texas Music Office and Visit Macon.
2022
The 2022 edition hosted its first in-person Awards Ceremony, which took place during the Tulsa Music Cities Convention and was produced in partnership with Visit Bentonville, as well as supporting partners Smokefree Music Cities, American Cancer Society: Cancer Action Network and Visit Fort Collins.
2021
The 2021 edition consolidated the contest’s mission to demonstrate the value of music to the world. It was hosted once more with Visit Bentonville, as well as supporting partners Kirklees Year of Music, Visit Macon and Visit Tulsa.
2020
The first edition of the Music Cities Awards took place online with the aim of promoting best practices and demonstrate the value of music to the world. It was hosted with the support of Visit Macon.
