Open call for submissions open until August 3rd, 2025

In 2024 we launched the coolest project ever: a Lonely Planet inspired guide that took music travellers through 1 day music itineraries from all over the world.

And when we say all over the world, we really mean it. Last year’s guide included 40 itineraries from places such as Ulaanbator in Mongolia, Beirut in Libano, Mbabane in Eswatini, Melbourne, Japan, Bogota, Montreal, Memphis, La Havana…

All curated by music fans, journalists, artists who really knew their music scenes and could direct travellers to those hidden gems that only a local would really know about.

We then heard back from the people using the guide to discover the world and the feedback was exciting, such as immersing themselves in a noise music festival in Tokyo or ending up creating their own cumbia band in Mexico City alongside a mix of travelers and locals.

In 2025, Music Tourism can no longer be considered a niche—it's a global movement reshaping how destinations attract visitors, generate revenue, and build cultural identity.

However, Music Tourism is much more than people travelling to other cities to enjoy the concerts of their favourite artists. Music tourism is about understanding a city's DNA through its music scenes and connecting with the people who are part of them.

That is what the Hidden Gems is all about, and we want you to be part of it. Join our community of sonic gem seekers and help curate the world’s most comprehensive music itinerary magazine.
