2 Cool Music Advocacy Conferences Happening This September

NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound
NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound. Made with love in Berlin

September is shaping up to be a milestone month for music advocacy, with two major events taking place on both sides of the Atlantic. If you care about how music can drive cultural, social, and economic change, these gatherings should be on your radar.

Two standout events to keep on your radar:

NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound
NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound

Music Cities Convention – a global meeting point for policymakers, industry leaders, and creatives exploring how music can shape better cities.

Music Frontiers – a two-day conference in Berlin-Kreuzberg uniting visionaries, innovators, and industry leaders to explore and reshape the global music ecosystem.

In this post, we break down what makes them similar, what sets them apart — and why you should consider attending.

Question 1: What is the main focus of the Conference?

SDEE: Music Cities Convention gathers grassroots and Government music advocates to discuss the best practices on how to use music to make cities better.

The event is all about consolidating music within public policy conversations in cities worldwide.

MF: Music Frontiers sits at the intersection of music, technology, and creativity, where new visions for the music ecosystem are discussed and meaningful collaborations are formed between music business leaders, technologists, researchers, and creatives. Rather than dwelling on the current challenges of the industry, this event provides a forward-thinking environment that brings together visionaries, innovators, and pioneers who are actively shaping the evolution of music.

Question 2: Who is this event for?

SDEE: MCC is for music advocates working at either a grassroots level, within the music industry or at the Government. It is for anyone who wants to have better ideas on how to use music to improve their cities.

MF: MF serves as a hub for those who are committed to transforming the music landscape through innovative solutions and forward-thinking ideas. It’s the ultimate experience for top minds in the music sector to inspire, learn and connect.

Question 3: Where and when will the event happen?

SDEE: This year's MCC marks its 10th year anniversary. It will be taking place in Fayetteville, AR, USA from Sept 16-18.

Fayetteville Arkansas is a vibrant college town that is home to one of the oldest and longest-running live music venues in Arkansas - George's Majestic Lounge, founded in 1927. With a 100+ year music advocacy path, it's a leading example of how authorities and music stakeholders can work together to use music as a transformational tool for the community.

MF: MF will happen at Ritter Butzke and AQUA-Höfe in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, Germany on Sept. 4 & 5.

Built in 1893, this classic, industrial estate was left abandoned for many years after the fall of the Berlin Wall until the founders of the now world-famous club Ritter Butzke started organizing parties and raves there. In the years that followed, Ritter Butzke became a cultural hotspot and today, the venue consists of many floors, all of which are beautifully and completely differently designed with an inner- and outer-courtyard area.

As a key hub for artists, creatives, and start-ups in Berlin, it’s the perfect setting for this gathering of innovative thinkers and brilliant music minds.

Question 4: Why should you join?

SDEE: To be part of a global movement of professionals using music to transform their communities, and get actionable steps from global case studies for making a difference in your own city.

MF: To connect with visionary artists, pioneering music tech entrepreneurs, smart researchers and forward-thinking music industry professionals to gain unparalleled insights and get a front row seat in the next evolution of the music ecosystem.

Question 5: A link to reserve your spot at the event
