A Conference for Music Tourism Visionaries.
Everything you need to know about the
Anguilla Music Tourism Convention
The Anguilla Music Tourism Convention is coming up next month. This high-impact, invite-only event promises to bring together an exceptional line-up of speakers and industry-defining conversations.
Keep reading to discover more about the organisations participating, and the two invite-only sessions focused on jump-starting the Anguilla music ecosystem and launching the Caribbean Music Tourism Alliance, all with the aim of establishing the first alliance for music tourism in the Caribbean.
From government officials and tourism experts to policymakers and producers, this year’s diverse range of speakers offer unmatched insight on building sustainable music tourism ecosystems in the Caribbean and beyond, with a focus on opportunities for decentralised territories, and offer expertise on using music to drive cultural heritage, cultural, and economic growth.

Redrawing the Map of Music Tourism
Key presentations will offer actionable insights and best practices from decentralized and rural territories. The aim is to spotlight successful music tourism models including carnival culture, studio destinations, and genre-based strategies being driven by smaller communities, outer islands, and non-capital regions, demonstrating how their unique cultural assets are being leveraged effectively to build a sustainable tourism economy.
Carnival-Based Tourism: Examining how calypso, soca and samba carnival festivals serve as powerful music tourism tools, driving economic impact, strengthening cultural identity and improving destination branding.
Recording Studio Destinations: Exploring the model where professional recording facilities, like Black Rock Studios, serve as anchors for tourism, demonstrating their potential to generate cultural and economic activity beyond the typical tourist path.
Bringing Local Music Genres into Tourism Strategies: This session will demonstrate how authentic local genres can shape unique visitor experiences and support cultural tourism development.
Uniting government bodies, cultural agencies, academic institutions
and creative industries: see who is attending below
The convention will host a global coalition of high-level institutions, including: Anguilla Department of Youth & Culture, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, University of the West Indies, Black Rock Studios, Saudi Arabia Music Commission, Music Nova Scotia, Sound Diplomacy, SVG AMP, Moonsplash Music Festival, Cinex , and many more from across Africa, North America, Europe and the Caribbean.
This broad coalition of stakeholders fosters global collaboration, cultural exchange, and innovative strategies for resilient music tourism economies. This is a rare opportunity to connect with the leaders shaping culture-led development around the world.
An elevated conference experience like no other
This year’s convention takes place at the Aurora Beach Resort, where the conference room opens directly onto the Caribbean coast. Replacing typical conference walls with ocean views, the Anguilla Music Tourism Convention turns every session into an immersive, world-class experience, inviting reflection, connection, and big ideas.
Let the beauty of Anguilla inspire fresh thinking, and fuel your vision for the future of music tourism.
Forging the Future: Launching the Caribbean Music Tourism Alliance
On the final day we are excited to host a high-level, invitation-only roundtable to lay the foundations for the Caribbean Music Tourism Alliance, a new platform for collaboration, policy alignment, and shared growth.
Its mission will be to build regional synergies and collective strategies by:
Showcasing and learning from the region’s most successful best practices.
Identifying the most pressing issues facing music tourism in the Caribbean.
Laying the groundwork for a stronger, more connected Caribbean music tourism ecosystem.

Stakeholder Meeting to Jump-Start the Local Music Ecosystem
Finally, we will host another invite only session, this time focused on bringing together Anguilla’s music community to assess the current music ecosystem and develop actionable steps for growth in music export and tourism.
Sound Diplomacy will present lessons learned from the Anguilla Cultural Ecosystem Health Assessment as well as the stakeholder focus groups organised in the lead up to the Music Tourism Convention, followed by guided group discussions.
Participants will identify key challenges, opportunities, and regional positioning strategies, culminating in a collaborative action plan with short and long-term goals. Outcomes will be documented and shared to support Anguilla’s music sector development.
