This will be the event's main digital platform, bringing together all delegates and speakers attending in person or digitally.

The Music Cities Convention is a conference directed to professionals working within the music ecosystem or interested in learning more about the power of music for transforming communities. This event is great for all kinds of music advocates, from public officials, members of economic development agencies, tourism boards, members of the music industry, leaders of grassroots organisations, students, researchers and people from other disciplines whose work or interests are also related to music.
The event will be taking place at Mayadeen Village from December 8-10, 2024. On the 8th, we’ll host the Music Cities Awards Ceremony, starting at 6pm. On the 9th and 10th we’ll be hosting the main days of talks and presentations of the Music Cities Convention, starting at 9 am.
Yes, the Music Cities Awards and the Music Cities Convention are part of Riyadh Music Week, which also includes XP Music Futures Conference, Saudi Arabia’s Music Makers Summit, Billboard Arabia Awards and Sound Storm Music Festival. Tickets for each of these events are independent of each other.
Yes. Tickets for the Music Cities Convention and the Music Cities Awards have no cost. However, a simple application is required. You can access the application link on the About page. Once you send your application, we’ll review your application and send over a link to book your ticket within 48 hours.
The ticket gives you access to the 3 days of activities of the event. This includes the Music Cities Awards Ceremony on December 8th and the Music Cities Convention on December 9th and 10th. The ticket also includes complimentary dinner on the 8th, complimentary lunch on the 9th and 10th, as well as complimentary coffee breaks.
Additionally, the ticket to the event gives you access to benefits such as access to the delegate list, to the online event app through which you’ll be able to connect with fellow attendees and play the premiere of The Hidden Gems of Music Tourism online music discovery game.
If you're attending from overseas, the most convenient method of arrival is by aeroplane at King Khalid International Airport. The area where the venue is located has limited parking space available. That’s why, once in Riyadh, we encourage you to use any of the public transportation options available in the city, including ride-hailing services such as Uber and Careem. Additionally, we’ll be providing a complimentary shuttle service for all delegates from the selected hotels to the venue on the 3 days of the event. Citizens from some countries are required a visa for entering Saudi Arabia. You can check if you’ll require one directly at the interface available at Visit Saudi’s website.
Dress code for the Music Cities Awards Ceremony on December 8th is business formal/evening formal, whilst the Dress Code suggested for the Music Cities Convention on December 9th and 10th is business casual. Before deciding on your look for the event, make sure it respects local customs. You can consult all of the details of local customs in Visit Saudi’s website and its very comprehensive travel guide (“Foreign visitors to Saudi should dress modestly and respectfully. Men should wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. Women should also consider long sleeves and full-length skirts or pants. While traditional Saudi attire isn’t mandatory for guests, avoid tight or revealing clothing. Women might also want to bring a shawl or scarf to drape over their heads if they plan to visit a mosque”)
On the 8th, the Music Cities Awards Ceremony will have a gala format, the dress code for this event will be formal.
Water will be provided across the event, so we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle and hot drink cup to prevent you from using single use plastic cups. Additionally, we encourage you to bring something for taking notes and for sharing your contact details with fellow delegates.
